I was watching that horse face Sebelius stammer through her lies and excuses the other day and noticed that she had resorted to the tried and true liberal look of wearing her glasses at the end of the nose.

The fat troll Levin from Michigan always wore his glasses that way. I've seen Bryant Gumbel do it too and there are others (many in academia) even though I can't think of the names off the top of my head.

Is it just me or is it a liberal thing? You know, where they cock their head back and look over the top of the glasses like they're looking down on you. I can't recall any conservatives doing that, let alone making it their look like that Levin asshole or horse face Sebelius.

Am I correct or not?????

People do it to look smart. I would bet Sebelius was coached to do that.

Without glasses Sebelius looks like the "aged bimbo trophy wife receiving huge alimony payments from wealthy ex-husband who divorced her because he couldn't stand her" woman.

Senator Pat Moynihan wore his glasses that way and actually was very smart. The Donk exception that proved the rule.

And Sebelius weren''t never no dang trophy wife, neither! You leave women like her for trophy wives.

Rachel Maddow does it.

I must admit that I wear my glasses down like that at times because I don't want to wear bifocals. I'm nearsighted and at my age when lenses correct my nearsightedness it's hard to see clearly through them at reading distance. I can see at reading distance better if I move the lenses away from my eyes some by pushing the glasses down my nose. And I can see at reading distance even better if I push my glasses down far enough to just look over them.

Then there's another scenario where I'm wearing contact lenses to correct nearsightedness and also wearing reading glasses. Then I'll often push the reading glasses down my nose so I can see at distance. by looking over them.

But I think it's safe to say I'm not a liberal.

You have to be careful about reaching such conclusions based on looking at states or other jurisdictions. For example, if you were to put up a map with median or average household income you'd see a correlation between higher income and likelihood of voting Democrat in Presidential elections. States with higher average incomes tend to vote Democrat.

But if you were to interpret that to mean that PEOPLE with higher average incomes are more likely to vote Democrat you'd be wrong. Exit polling consistently shows that the majority of people in the higher income strata consistently vote Republican in Presidential elections.

There's reason to believe the same sort of thing could characterize the map of obesity rates. Paradoxically, poor people in the United States have a high obsesity rate. So do minorities. When you look at States like Louisiana and Mississippi one reason you see high obesity rates is because large proportions of their populations are poor and black. You also see DC showing up in the high obesity rate category on that map; probably for the same reason.

And, obviously, the "poor," "minority," and/or "poor minority" populations vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. So, ironically, the reason you see that block of Southern states that tends to vote Republican being in the highest obesity rate category could be that they have a high proportion of people in demographic groups that have high obesity rates and also tend to vote Democrat.

Ditto, although I don't wear them down the nose, I just lower my head a bit and look over them. Full Disclosure...I have been accused of going to this move when I'm really trying to make a point or chastise.

Yes. Everyone knows white people in places like Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, etc. are health concious and skinny. Hard to find fat white people down South. It's just black people.
