Congressional members are just following through with the wishes of the constituencies that vote for them back home. Really shows you just how many people across the country have sh*t for brains. This country can't break up soon enough!!!

Legislation like Obamacare wasn't written with the people in mind.

Exactly. I understand how Obama got his first term. But winning a second term shows how stupid our neighbors are.

And/or how stupid the Republican party is.

Of course they mirror because districts are purposely gerrymandered to do so....
You reverse the gerrymandering and you get a more effective government

Down with gerrymandering - I can support that! For once, Iowa actually is a lighthouse for the rest of the nation to follow.

Duh.
Congress mirrors their constituents simply because almost everyone, when it comes down to it, is a selfish person looking after their own self interest.
In other words, everyone is a Conk...it's just that the Donks lie about it.
Don't act surprised.

Simple solution...implement electronic voting nationwide, and include brief tests of civic literacy and awareness of current events. Doesn't have to be anything really involved, just basic stuff like "what are the three branches of government?" and "with what country has the US been negotiating the destruction of their chemical weapons?". If you can't get at least three quarters of it correct, ZAP, your vote doesn't count.
Voting is NOT a right, and you have to uphold your end of the bargain by at least trying to be minimally informed. It boggles my mind that we strip voter eligibility for anyone convicted of a felony in our justice system as if it's an infallible system but it's terrible to even suggest expecting that people not be completely ignorant dunderheads when they vote.

Sorry to change the subject but since it was written in 1787, how relevant (is/should be) the Constitution today in 2013?? Fire away

Yeah, it is........it's a f*ckin document written by a bunch of HUMANS 230 year ago. There was no such thing as voting (for most) or healthcare (for any) back then. Unfortunately, there were guns at the time......although I'm sure that women and blacks weren't allowed to use them.....legally.
Stop using the Constitution as a crutch like the Jesus Freaks do with the Bible.

Some people are not quite as selfish as others. I'm sorry this hurts your feelings.
