....for her relationship with the West.
Conk War on Women spreads across the globe; now involves young girls.

ESHAWAR, Pakistan -- The Taliban does not regret the murder attempt on 16-year-old education activist Malala Yousafzai last year and will make "all out" efforts to kill her in retaliation for her relationship with the West, a spokesman for the organization in Pakistan told NBC News on Tuesday.
"Everyone should understand that we didn't want to shoot her for promoting female education and thousands of girls are still going to schools as we are not against female education," Shahidullah Shahid said by telephone.
"The reason we decided to kill her was her anti-Islam and anti-Mujadeen campaign on media."
Malala was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen last October for disobeying the Taliban's ban on female education, but survived her injuries and continued to speak out for women's rights in Pakistan.
The Taliban spokesman said that it "will be a pride for the Taliban if she is silenced."
In July, a Taliban commander said he wished the shooting had "never happened," but did not apologize for it.
Malala, who now lives in the UK with her family, told the BBC on Monday: "I'm a campaigner of education, I am a children's rights activist and I'm a women's rights activist ... We know that terrorists are afraid of the power of education."
She is a contender to win the Nobel Peace Prize later this week, and her memoir, "I Am Malala," was published worldwide on Tuesday.
Shame, Conks.........

Our Nobel Peace prize winning president, who got out maneuvered on his attempt to turn Syria into a glass factory, should authorize some drone strikes against the Taliban in the name of peace.

Outmaneuvered? The UN is destroying Assad's chemical arsenal as we speak.
The only people unhappy about that are the defense contractors.

No, defense contractors are not. We're good.

Putin took him to school in case you didn't read about it. If we'd had our way we'd have unloaded a couple of ships of their missile cargo. Obama made a public plea in prime time to make his case for an attack.
And I think most of public sentiment was against getting involved in Syria.

I went to high school with a girl whose last name was Koch. First day of school all the teachers would awkwardly try to pronounce it and she would blurt out "IT'S COCK!" and everyone would laugh.

I don't mind Putin getting some cred and us not having to spend yet more billions on wars in the middle east to achieve our objective of destroying Assad's arsenal.
The money we won't spend on yet another war would be way more than enough to give ourselves the kind of health care we provide for congress.

I recognize that the state of chemical education in this country is abysmal (anytime we want to scare someone we just say the word "chemicals"), but you do realize that it takes very little space or technology or time to make any of the chemical weapons that are being destroyed, correct? If anything, this current "destructio" is really just a symbolic step since he can recreate the entire arsenal in a matter of days. Heck, we're probably even doing hom a favor since most chemicals have a shelf life and this way he gets to purge the real old stock that he has and just replace it with fresher, more potent inventory.
This isn't nuclear weapons, this kind of stuff can be made cheaply, easily, and in a very short time period.

No priests or nuns where I went. Well one nun, but she taught Calculus.

I went to high school with a guy whose last name was Koch. He did the long jump in track. We were at a track meet and the guy running the long jump was starting the event and he says, "Smith's up, Jones is on deck, and Koch's in the hole." I thought everybody was going to die laughing.

You're right, 8ball. So, unlike your boy, W (remember the Iraq War?), the president recognized this and allowed peaceful means to win the day. That's what good leaders do, Mort.
You're flailing badly, Ted Cruz. Best to go to the Sesame Street website for a while. Big Bird's gonna show his Koch.

40% of House Dems and 58% of Dem senators supported the Iraq resolution - hardly a unilateral choice. On Syria, it was largely bipartisan against our peacemaker in chief lobbing missiles. Obama backed down to Putin and US public opinion, otherwise he'd have backed up his "red line" bravado.

If that's the way you wanna spin it, Limbaugh, have at it. Rather a blind Conk resolution based on lies and oil lust than peaceful capitulation to worldwide decree? Typical Conk shit - the more brown-skinned blood spilled, the better.

Yep, the priests were raping children in the janitor's closet and chapels, while the nuns guarded the doors.

If using an actual voting record is "spinning", then I'm guilty as charged.

I think most people in the US wanted blood after 9/11 and we were sold a bill of goods on who to attack, no question about that. Hindsight being 20/20 we should have blasted the Saudis, but to your point we can't/won't exploit our own oil reserves so we have too much reliance on them to do so.
BHO attempted the same rallying cry as Bush/Cheney with attacking Syria, but it fell on deaf ears because he's managed to keep us embroiled in a meaningless war and Americans are tired of fighting with no objective in sight. Putin saw an opportunity to keep one of his trading partners in business with brokering a deal and in the process making our head honcho look like a chump...win/win for Russia.

UNI has had 3 brothers on campus playing basketball at UNI now (Adam 06/07-09/10, Jake 08/09-12/13, and Bennett 13/14-depends on a redshirt). All three were/are at least 6'9, and the first two were all conference players (Adam being conference POY and Jake being 1 of only 2 players in MVC history with 500 pts (finished his career with over 1000 points), grab at least 500 rebounds, have at least 100 made threes, at least 100 assists, at least 100 blocks, at least 100 steals in his career).
The say it Cook.
Wichita State's basketball arena is Koch Arena and it's said Coke...

From DB1's favorite lib rag:
Just 25 percent of respondents picked Obama as the most effective world leader during the Syrian chemical weapons crisis, while 49 percent named Vladimir Putin.
In a separate question, 44 percent named Obama as the least effective leader. That ranks him last among a list that included Putin, UK prime minister David Cameron, French president Francois Hollande, Syrian president Bashar Assad, and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon -- results that likely reflect Americans' disapproval of Obama, rather than plaudits for or recognition of the other men.
Other polls have shown Americans are deeply skeptical of Obama's approach in Syria. A CBS/New York Times poll released Wednesday revealed just 37 percent approved of his handling of the Syrian crisis. His overall approval ratings on foreign policy, formerly a political strength for him, have dropped significantly as well in recent months.
The Economist/YouGov poll showed that many Americans have little faith in Syria as well. Just 23 percent of respondents thought the Syrian government would surrender its chemical weapons stockpile, and only 14 percent thought that Syria was negotiating in good faith.
