Harry Reid Contributor Sentenced to Two Years in Prison

Townhall.com ^ | October 1, 2013 | Carol Platt Liebau

Today, a big Harry Reid supporter -- who funneled more than $130,000 to Reid in 2007 -- was sentenced to two years in prison for campaign finance violations. Harvey Whittemore, a lobbyist and developer, used "straw donors" to contribute to Reid's campaign.

Of course, Reid claims that he knew nothing about all the wrongdoing. Of course, that's what he always says.

When a businessman was indicted earlier this year, claiming that Utah's Attorney General helped broker a deal in 2010 in which the businessman believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation go away, Reid's office just declined to comment.

Shady land deal? Nah, just Reid working for the good of his constituents.

Conflicts of interest surrounding Reid's dealings in green energy? Nothing to see here, folks.

Family members lobbying Reid for their clients? Don't worry about it -- after being exposed by the Los Angeles Times, Reid stopped it.

Free tickets to boxing matches? Not a problem.

So given Reid's history, it's perfectly understandable that, of course, he knew nothing -- nothing! -- about the dirty dealings on his campaign's behalf.

Harry Reid is a bigger POS than Obama. Yes, I know. That is hard to believe, but he is.

Oh bullshit. It's a moot point, but slavery existed from 1619-1865. (246 years) Besides, you aren't oppressed and have never been oppressed. Take responsibility for yourself and be a man. Act like an adult. Black people have taken advantage of what people like MLK died for and are now Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Congressmen, CEO's, heads of government, high military officials, POTUS. You're a weak man that had a weak and racist upbringing, most likely. You are old now and bitter that you spent your youth chasing skirt and fast money instead of getting an education. You can go to any school, church, diner, hospital, theater you choose.

One of the best pieces of advice/anecdotes I've heard was from a former neighbor when I was in high school. He said he wanted to party all the time. He changed his outlook and definition of party. Partying, to him, wasn't a keggar every weekend. It became a goal. He busted his ass so that his idea of partying of was Flying up to NYC for a a long weekend, going to sports games and being around friends. He worked his ass off to do that. His idea of a fun was packing a weekend bag, hoping into his BMW convertible and driving wherever. He grew up on America Street in Charleston, SC aka the projects. When he moved in next door he had 4 franchises and was building a company.

I'd like to point out that my date, 1619, is when the first slave ship landed at Jamestown.

It isn't tough for me to admit it, but the truth is that your race does the most to oppress your race.

Jamestown? I'm designing a public restroom at the beach there as we speak. I don't think they had one there in 1619. Probably had to shit in the woods.

I'm not bitter at all about spending my youth chasing skirt. I know in my heart it was the right thing to do.
