Weiner and Spitzer Both Lose!

Anthony Weiner (NYC mayor) and Eliot Spitzer ( NY controller) both lost their primaries yesterday. Weiner got only 5% of the vote -- mostly from other sexters, no doubt. Karma is a beyotch!

As my late mother used to say about questionably durable marriages, "I give it six months."

Yes. But Spitzer is not. Ivytalk loves the fact that Vitter got a standing ovation when he returned to congress. Meanwhile, Spitzer was looking a little too close at Wall Street (which was sorely needed), and got rolled for something that is truly nobody else's fucking business.

Nosey, hypocritical, big government conks. :ohno:

Bullshit. Spitzer grandstanded the Wall Street issue by bringing groundless prosecutions for political purposes, parading executives in handcuffs, and bullying and threatening firms into paying fines. He's an arrogant asshole who has no place in public life. Why don't you just start pushing your lover Elizabeth Warren for President.

Seems like some scandal seems to help. It worked for Jesse Jackson Jr., Kwame Kilpatrick, and Marion Barry. :coffee:

They could start a new hot dog fast food chain and call it Weinerspitzel.

Hah, good one.

Arrogant assholes populate public life IT...on both sides...kinda goes with territory.

As for Warren...you got that shit straight...definite gilf material for the old Kalmunist.

Oh come on, kalm, if you honestly couldn't see Spitzer for what he was (and as Ivy said, a grandstanding politician who brought cases that he didn't have any chance of winning for lack of evidence) then I have to start questioning your analysis. It's bad enough when a simple politician drums the populist drumbeat and casts baseless accusations against people, it's another thing when the Attorney General, as Spitzer was, does it. Integrity should matter, I'm not sure why don't think it should.

Spitzer's conviction record was abysmal, and he may have perjured himself in the Troopergate scandal. Yeah, kalm, everybody does it. :jack:

And if you lust after that anti-corporatist paragon, Liz Warren, well.... :ohno:
