Listen to the whole thing- this interview is very telling, as it took place more than a year ago- and Assad already knew exactly what the plan was to get rid of him.
This is Assad's wife: Notice how she's not wearing a Burka, and is currently living in a secular country where you are not forced to (at least for now)
