An atomic bomb is quite comparable to over 40 years of political corruption.

I do feel for the public servants who put in long careers in that crappy city, now only to see their pensions at risk because of long term fiscal irresponsibility. Particularly the firefighters and the cops. I hope they can pull their heads out in city hall and come up with a solution.

They should just think of their evaporating pensions as another tax they are willing pay the unions. If they didnt object then they cant object now.

They are getting what they "earned"

"Public servants" sounds so "old America".

They're parasites who don't deserve a pension and need to get off their lazy asses and get another job. They should be grateful that they were allowed to work at all. :coffee:

Cops and firefighters are some of the worst public servants - lazy and overpaid. They bled that city dry along with the dumbfuck conks and their stupid business plans.

Fucking conk auto idiots.

Yeah, public service did it. The problem wasn't the Police of Firefighters. It's the unions. Unions are good for nothing. They are corrupt and a drain on resources. What is your solution? No cops, no guns, no firefighters, no defense contractors. Shit, are you advocating no government?

Hey, Dick Head, bottom line - the auto industry built and sustained Detroit. Dumb fuck conks, in their eternal quest for money and quick profits for shareholders, failed to adapt to a changing world and were left in the dust. Rather than fight on (because conks actually are very lazy and only looking for quick cash) they just let the city burn.

Go fuck yourself, Stretch Armstrong. There's a pizza or favorite sitcom thread in the lounge with your name on it. I suggest you go there.

Now on to business:

Sure, unions bear some of the blame, but it pales compared to Detconks and conks outside of Detroit. Their quick-money-cash-profit-now mentality that guided their business decisions proved to be catastrophic.

conk greed is the root of all evil.

Which SPECIFIC conks were responsible for Detroits union lead plunge into the liberalsphere?

I want names not blanket accusations because your fu*king delusional if you think conks had much to do with where they are now.

So Detroit is broke but they are still going to have the taxpayers fund the new 444 million dollar hockey arena??? Wouldn't that money be better spent on infrastructure/teacher/etc not some sporting arena?

Fellas. Let's not get carried away. As you know I don't like the Democratic Party. But if you give me the choice of having the Democratic Party control my town for a few decades or have a nuclear weapon dropped on my town I'm going to choose having the Democratic Party control my town for a few decades.

I mean...c'mon.
