I'm with Spanos, it was an inside job!

I've been absent for a while... been doing some grassroots investigations.... I fear after posting this, the government is going to charge me with espionage. My plane's about to take off for a direct flight to Bolivia as I write this (what idiot would fly to a country like Russia to seek asylum), need to power down my cell phone. Farewell gentleman... and AZ.... If you don't hear from me, you know why...

This is complete and utter rubbish.
Everyone knows the dark lord had left his physical body and become ethereal after Isildur cut off his finger in the last alliance. I mean sure the Necromancer appeared in human form, but he was still pretty much a ghost.
His last incarnation as the eye at the top of the tower of Barad Dur was basically an "all the eggs in one basket" deal and there's no way he would jeopardize his own destruction through an "inside job.
Furthermore, despite the obvious abuse of his minions, mordor orcs all realized their existence was tied to his.
So...ALL you have left is rogue Uruk Hai who had somehow gained access to the iron tower, or perhaps Gollum planting some device when he was interrogated their after losing the ring.
TOTAL stretch in either case!
C'mon man, I know you've been away awhile and are no doubt off your game...but as Gannonfan always admonishes me...you're better than this!
