Col Hogan and I will be establishing a PayPal account for donations to help supplement our income now that we are furloughed.
I have volunteered whoever made the last userbars the responsibility of making "I Support 93henfan and Col Hogan" userbars for all generous contributors. That alone is worthy of emptying your pockets for this noble cause.
I'll post the PayPal info as soon as I get it all set up.
Thanks for your concern!

For those in the DC/Balt/Philly area:
I am available to do yardwork on Fridays. You'll need to have a riding mower.

Thanks for reading. Any amount helps. Suggested minimum is $250, but feel free to donate more.

More along the lines of EC(b)'ers...and I wouldn't use the word hate.

But is it a tax?

Hope this is the start of millions of government workers losing their jobs.
Government workers, with rare exception, are worthless overpaid drones. Biggest waste of taxpayer money.
Fuck you both.

Let's not get all technical.
Just send the money. We can sort out details later. We run this like Congress. Act, then determine if legal.

It doesn't sound like you are an enthusiastic donor - yet. Is there some incentive beside the userbar that could get you excited about donating? Squeeze balls? Magnets? Pens? Solar calculators? We are trying hard to please everyone.

Sorry Hen, but like most liberals, I believe that "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." For this reason, I donate only to animal causes. People can f*** off.

Does Fordham football qualify as an "animal cause"?

<serious 93henfan speaking> We'll be OK. It's only 20% and the duration was cut in half. I do feel bad for those your age who are taking the cut. I know a new employee with $60K in student loans to repay. Youch.
<not serious 93henfan speaking> If you would just shave the beard, get the eyebrows worked on, shower daily, use deodorant, and start wearing traditional western garb to interviews, you might start getting some bites.

Trying to be the glass half full guy, I'd much rather be furloughed this time of year when there's plenty to do outside.

Can you pick how you handle your furlough days? The state of Iowa did furloughs a couple years ago. I know a guy that figured out if he took them all in a row rather than spacing them out he would be eligible for unemployment so that is what he did.
And I'll donate once my wife gets back the permanent 20% pay cut she took 1.5 years ago.

But your wife is probably a tough person. I'm a Government employee. I'm not used to such adversity!
My particular chain of command has mandated a single down day each week for the unit: Friday. I am off every Friday anyway, so instead of working four tens, I now work four eights. Some commands are allowing people to manage the days themselves, but the caveat is that if they take all of their furlough days and then the furlough gets farther reduced later, they don't get paid for those days. So, nobody I know of has chosen that option.
There is a decent chance that the furlough will be reduced even more. The Navy went on the record a couple of months ago that it did not need to furlough civilians, because it could offset the cuts elsewhere. I believe the USAF was in the same boat. Hagel, however, wanted all of DoD to feel the pain equally.

No. I just checked. Your taxes are earmarked for foreign aid to Israel. Mine go to Head Start. Bandle is the only one whose taxes I could see that were going toward my paycheck, and I want to thank him for that.
