Actually, Cass, lawyers as a group are very poor businesspeople. Even my small firm has a full-time controller to do budgets, watch the cash flow and monitor the receivables. I can't do any of that stuff -- at least not well enough to manage it myself. Just have to be intelligent enough to hire good people.
