I grew up with the exact same circumstances at the same time. I too chose a team that was not from NY or Philly. But instead of migrating towards the wholesome Roger Staubach, I was attracted to the beer swilling, cigar smoking, "Over the Hill Gang" Washington Redskins.

What connection does Christie have to Texas or even that part of the country to be a Dallas fan?

I think Christie will lose more votes for sticking his tongue in Obama's ear during the Hurricane Sandy fracas than he will for announcing his love for the Cowgirls.

It's part the Cowboys fan thing, but also the fact that he's a UD season ticket holder and makes no mention of it.

At least he's not a bandwagoner.

He explained it in the clip. When he was young, his dad was a Giants fan and they sucked back then and every game his dad watched he saw that he would get angry and upset and didn't understand why he would follow a team that did that too him.

He liked Staubach and the rest is history. So he was originally a bandwagoner lol but after 40 years I guess that card no longer applies.
