Seems as though Russia isn't playing along with Obama's rules.

“This weapons transfer is obviously disappointing and will set back efforts to promote the political transition that is in the best interests of the Syrian people and the region,” Senator Bob Corker of Tennessee, the senior Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee, said in a statement on Thursday night. “There is now greater urgency for the U.S. to step up assistance to the moderate opposition forces who can lead Syria after Assad.”

Senator Robert Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey and the committee chairman, added in a statement, “Russia is offering cover to a despotic ruler and defending a bankrupt regime.” :dunce:

Attention Menendez and Corker...you are both idiots.

There are no moderate resistance forces in Syria. What few there were have been co-opted.

I don't know why there is anyone still in favor of this kind of interventionism after the lessons of Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. What was it that Einstein said about the definition of stupidity?

Why wouldn't the entire defense industry be in favor of another war? :coffee:

The biggest drum beaters in this admin have been Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice. They were fervently for intervention in Libya, and are also in favor of intervention in Syria. Hillary was also for the wars in the Muddle East before she was against them.

It is easy to blame the military industrialists for the adventurism of the last 10 years, but political idealism is an equal driving force. John McCain and Hillary Clinton are birds of a feather, and neither of them are all that heavily tied to the bullet and airplane makers.
