Fuck the NRA

Regardless of your position on gun legislation... this kind of shit is fucking awful.
NEWTOWN -- Robocalls from the National Rifle Association have outraged local residents still reeling from the Sandy Hook massacre that took the lives of 20 young children and six educators.
First Selectwoman Pat Llodra said Monday she's received several complaints about the calls, but there is nothing local officials can do about the matter.
"I've encouraged residents who have received the calls to contact the NRA and have their names taken off their list," Llodra said.
The town's chief official added that it's both insensitive and inappropriate to focus robocalls on a community still healing from one of the worst school shootings in the nation's history.
"You would think Newtown is the last place they would want to start their lobbying effort against changes to the current gun laws," Llodra said. "It's a bad time for us. We are still struggling to heal."
While Llodra said the calls are inappropriate, she added that it's a typical response from the gun lobbying group.
"It seems to be their typical response to this issue," she said. "Insensitive and inappropriate."

The NRA unfortunately provides a check and balance to the Dianne Feinsteins of the world. I don't agree with all the NRA's stances (or this particular one) but without their lobby we'd likely be doing government confiscations of legally obtained weapons.

Good point but Westborough Baptist tactics only help the Feinsteins of the world. We somehow avoided confiscation all those decades prior to the NRA going a little off the deep end.

Feinstein and the NRA ratchet up the rhetoric equally, with most of us falling somewhere in between in our views. Not terribly unlike the liberal left and the Tea Party.

It's funny that people think the parties are the same as they were 150 years ago because they have the same name.
You think Andrew Jackson would be a Republican or a Democrat today?

He wouldn't make it out of the primary as a Republican. He'd make a nice blue dog Dem.

I only know that he is supposed to be worth $20 but it is less and less every day.

Oh for PETE'S sake. Ronald Reagan as he was in 1980 would cruise through the Republican primary. He was pro life...which is a biggie for Republican primary voters. Care to bet on what his position on homosexuals getting married would be? And he said stuff like this:

I know you're not the first one that said that but this thing about "Reagan would not have been conservative enough for today's Republican Party" is absolute nonsense. For Pete's sake they just nominated John McCain and Mitt Romney. And before that they nominated George W. Bush with that "Compassionate Conservatism" crap.

What does an assassination of a public law official have to do with random mass murder of innocent children?
You've gone full retard on this one, bill.

When you have a border the government refuses to secure and when that same government gives weapons to the Mexican drug cartels, what do you think will happen?

They're actually investigating links to white supremacist prison gang right now.

Looks like the 211 crew and Texas cops have the same kind of relationship. Too bad those lawmen didn't have guns with which to protect themselves. Oh, wait.....

Are you packing every time the girl scouts knock on your front door? I mean safety off, out of the holster?
