BISMARCK, N.D. — North Dakota lawmakers moved Friday to outlaw abortion in the state by passing a resolution defining life as starting at conception.
The measure, which has to be approved by voters, is one of a series of anti-abortion resolutions the Republican-controlled Legislature has passed this year despite critics' insistence that they are unconstitutional and violate the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling legalizing abortion until a fetus is considered viable, which is usually at 22 to 24 weeks.
The North Dakota House approved the measure 57-35 Friday, sending it to voters, likely in November 2014. The Senate approved it last month.
The bolded word is what amazes me that anyone could still be pro-abortion.

Personally, I feel abortion should be legal- I don't remember anything before about 4 years old, doubt a fetus has any clue what is going on.

Via LifeNews:
A writer from the Wisconsin State Journal shadowed an abortionist as he performed abortions in his clinic. He says:
“. . . Christensen performed two abortions that day on women who were at the end of the first trimester. In each case, the tissue was suctioned into a large glass jar, filling the bottom half inch.
Christensen later poured it into a straining basin and examined it “to make sure we removed all of it.”
At one point, he picked up a tiny foot and placed it against a ruler. “Thirteen millimeters,” he announced, “which is consistent with 12 weeks of actual pregnancy.”
Later he held a tiny head. Its brain tissue will be sent to the National Institutes of Health for research on brain tumors.”
B.D. Colen, a reporter for Newsday, witnessed a second-trimester D&E abortion. A D&E is the standard second-trimester abortion and is performed over 300 times a day:
“. . . After dilating, or opening, the cervix, the physician used a curette, the gynecological version of a sharpened spoon, to cut the fetus into pieces he would then remove with forceps. A large petri dish sat on an instrument stand to the right of the girl’s feet, and most of the red material in the dish was unrecognizable. But from time to time during the procedure the physician would tap his forceps on the edge of the dish – and into the muck would drop a foot, or a hand, or a piece of rib cage[.]
Having seen what I saw, I cannot for a moment abide the disingenuousness of those who argue that a fetus is not human, or those who convince themselves that abortion is not killing[.]”

Now send that reporter to take notes on a back alley abortion in a country where they're illegal.

THIS ^
A fetus doesn't have rights over another person or even rights which are typically ascribed to adults, children and babies. Hence, it's illegal (in many states) to smoke or consume alcohol with children in a car, but not illegal for a pregnant woman to smoke or drink, as it should be.

Semantics. Abortion is killing a person.

Then why can a person be tried for double murder if they kill a pregnant woman?

Yes.
This measure seeks to ban abortions, even before the fetus is viable.
Clenz called people that are pro-choice -- "pro-killing an infant."
A fetus is not an infant - particularly a fetus before the 22-week mark that doesn't have lungs, doesn't have a nervous system, etc.
What's so hard to grasp?
An infant is a baby who has been born until it becomes a toddler. A fetus is not a fucking infant.

The question that gets conveniently ignored...can a 12 week fetus survive outside the womb?

If it doesn't have anything to do with you, why do you give a shit what others do? Really. I would love an answer.
If my neighbor has an abortion, good for them, I don't give a shit.
If my neighbor is homosexual, good for them, I don't give a shit.
If my neighbor supports legalization of marijuana, good for them, I don't give a shit.
If my neighbor is a religious nut, good for them, I don't give a shit.
If my neighbor is a DEM/REP/IND/whatever, good for them, I don't give a shit.

No. 12 weeks isn't even remotely close.

That is a dumb law. Next they will charge the mother for having a miscarriage.

There is life at conception, but you may only be using science when convenient. Abortion is a choice, which ends life of the cells that are generating a baby. Like Jon said, no one is pro abortion, it's the choice part that is the core of the argument.
