...and gets SUSPENDED?!?

The principal used some bogus excuse about "being involved with a weapons incident," using latitude authorizing an "emergency suspension" pending the next school board meeting. That principal ought to be canned. If I were his parents, he and the district would be the recipients of a high-dollar lawsuit, with the principal directly named as a defendant.

School systems are totally out of control with this stuff now. Just today I saw this story about a kid being suspended because he ate a pop tart into a gun shape:

I think I heard something today about the school saying he said "pow." But really. Even if he did intentionally eat a pastry into the shape of a gun and say "pow" that's ridiculous.

I'm just glad my kids are done with the public school system. Like they think this kind of crap helps anything, reduces risk in some way. They're whacked.

Fortunately this isn't everywhere. The other day I stopped at our school to visit with the supt. Our elementary principal was gone so we was filling in. He had a 2nd grader in his office and I could see this on his desk:



He was explaining to the little boy that he couldn't bring guns to school. He told him to put it in his backpack and leave it there until he got home. He stressed that he better not bring it to school again. No suspension or anything stupid like that. Didn't call his parents.

Later we had a conversation about all the stupidity going in these schools. I told him I was glad that we had administration with brains because if we didn't I would be voting as a board member to fire their dumb asses if they ever do something stupid like in this story.
