I like the idea of a purple heart veteran who was an enlisted man, a real soldier, get offered the gig over some West Point suck azz politician officer. And if you have kids that might serve in the military you should like that too.

While I think Hagel is an egotistical ass, like all politicians, I have no problem with his nomination. Presidents should be able to install whoever they want in their cabinet unless their are serious issues/problems.
