EPA chief Lisa Jackson suddenly resigned last week because she was convinced that President Obama is planning to green-light the controversial Keystone XL oil pipeline, The Post has learned.

“She was going to stay on until November or December,” said a Jackson insider. “But this changed it. She will not be the EPA head when Obama supports it [Keystone] getting built.”

..............

Obama early this year rejected the Keystone project, but the pipeline’s operators have refiled their applications. And Jackson has told insiders that the president will approve the project this time — perhaps as soon as March or April.

He's a moderate conservative.

I won't complain if he approves it. I just find it funny when this comes out after the election.

Funny, but not surprising. As soon as he punted on it last year I thought it was pretty obvious that he wanted to wait it out and not risk losing any votes over it.

Clinton on her way out
Geithner on his way out
Jackson bails out

If Salazar gets canned, Commerce cleans house (especially Lubchenco)...Obama's on his way to righting the ship.

Now...if Congress can just give McConnell, Reid and Pelosi the boot...

She denies that the pipeline thing is the reason for her resigning. But if she's lying and it really is the reason then it's scary that somebody like here was ever appointed in the first place.

Doesn't matter. We're not going to have a reasonable balance between environmental concerns and concerns over things like economic development and property rights until we get Democrats out of power. The EPA needs to be taken down quite a few pegs and that's not going to happen as long as Democrats are in position to get in the way of doing it.

I agree. Hopefully nothing but repubs get voted in. What could possibly go wrong?
