They don't want to wind up like Hostess workers and have their pensions looted to pay executives bonuses. :coffee:

I'm no union fan
but they don't really get to do their dirty work behind closed doors
When Financial institutions & Banks steal money they can do it quietly

Pffffft...
Banking is the oldest most universally corrupt scam since it's Assyrian establishment 4 thousand years ago
The fact that YOU are a part of it - does not mean that's not true - it just means you're in denial

There's a difference
Unions have been around since the post-civil war era...
Banks have been wildly fucking the public since time began - just deal bro...

I'll leave the banking arguments to you guys.

But on the subject if right to works laws... they pretty much universally state that nobody should be required to join a union as a condition of their employment.

So companies don't want to have to use union workers... that's not surprising. But when you have to have a law forcing people to join unions in order to make unions work... well something's amiss there.

I agree with that
Again I'm no fan of Unions - they've caused far more damage than good in the last 40 years
My point was that if Americans got to see what Financial institutions do quietly behind closed doors - there would literally be hangings in the street

Quite a bit of Unions dirty work is public knowledge and even "out in the street"
So we can see the nastiness and brutality of it

Yup. The unions are having a tough time here with Boeing. Some people want it but most are smart enough to avoid it.

Agree.

Haven't Wal-Mart employees consistently voted to keep unions out? I'm sure unions are drooling to get their meathooks into Wallyword.

Up here in MN/ND, American Crystal Sugar 'locked' out their union workers.....good.

Yes, and Wally-World hands out food stamp applications with its job applications.

Unions can be good in some areas but they can also be an anchor in a more competitive field.

It is a job.

Or should everyone hold out for a 'management position'.... :coffee:

Here's hoping it makes Michigan more competitive in hustling for new industrial business. RTW laws have attracted foreign automakers to Southern states in recent years.

I'm going to go out on a limb and buess that I have spent a LOT more time behind the curtain in financial institutions than you have...sounds to me like you've fully bought into the Obama hype that the banks are the "bad guys".

Congrats, sheeple.

Z, as loathsome as they are, I'd much rather deal with union thugs than you and your heroes in the banking industry who stole trillions from hard working tax payers. :thumb:

Um yeah...this. That confrontation was so staged it's hysterical.

I'm neutral on unions as well and perhaps I'm getting this issue wrong, but if a majority of workers vote to unionize, why should someone be able to take advantage of their wages and benefits without joining? Aren't unions workplace democracies? It's not as if you are forced to look for a job at a union shop.

And Cleets is spot on about banking, at least the TTBF/financials. Every bit as corrupt and harmful as unions, if not more. The conk "producer" myth shields them well.
