I'm sure that what actually happened is they had a meeting. This wing nut mentioned his hairbrained notion. It got a few eye rolls and they politely let him say his bit and moved on. The guy from the "watch dog group", code for a gotcha gathering expedition, blew the whole thing out of proportion for effect. It's the dilemna we face in today's political landscape. Each side is so busy trying to one-gotcha up the other side in this weird game of political embarrassment that neither can come sit at the table together and get anything done. No one can say or do anything without worrying if they are going to end up in an article on a blog or in a youtube video misconstruing what they are doing. Just stop it already. Fuck!

Supposedly. And did it happen the way it's being reported? Who knows.

The gotcha culture that has grown up around our political process is out of control. Both sides do it. Both sides fall victim to it. Granted, the nutjobs of the Repubs make it easy pickings for the guys on the other side, but either way, it needs to be reigned in. Like it or not, this country is split very close to 50/50, and nothing is going to get done unless they can find some common ground. This kind of reporting with the intent of embarrassing one side or the other isn't helping. It's fun and entertaining, but counter productive. I don't really give a shit to be honest with you, just making an observation.

I'll bet this is how they got Bush to rig the towers with explosives....
