Most pathetic exit polling result

I'm just starting to study the exit polling results (
http://www.cnn.com/election/2012/result ... exit-polls" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). A little disappointed in that there are some questions that have been asked in the past that haven't been asked. But the one below struck me. How pathetic the population of this country has become.
Below are responses to "Most Important Candidate Quality:"
Shares my values (27 % of voters) - Obama 42%, Romney 55%
Strong leader (18%) - Obama 38%, Romney 61%
Cares about people (21%) - Obama 81%, Romney 18%
Vision for the future (29%) - Obama 45%, Romney 54%

Why is that pathetic? I'm going to give the guy a job and pay his salary. I'd like to think that he cares about my problems.
You must have be a big fan of Nero.
Or do I misunderstand your point? Are you saying that you think it's pathetic that the answer came in 3rd out of 4 options?

I get it John.
It's analagous to discovering your house is on fire and you deciding on what clothes your family should wear when they run out the front door.
Are the handouts so generous to so many people that there is not economic pain being felt by the American public?

This statement is somewhat true. Then again, we all get handouts, don't we?

Yes we do. Fire dept, police dept, traffic lights, that's all funded with "big govt" taxpayer money. They don't like a black man running the country. Plain and simple.

You're out of touch, John, and your upcoming pages-long whine-fest isn't going to change a thing.
Here's what I suggest -
1) Stop hating America.
2) Learn Spanish.
3) Grow a pair.

Except it's not a handout when we're paying for it... On the other hand, sitting at home and expecting a paycheck would be, GOP or Dem

Hey stupid fuck, do some research on who actually gets "welfare" and how it works.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking about, Baldy Jr.

I hate it when people bring up fire, police, schools in the middle of a conversation about federal spending.

Way too open ended there kalm.
Please explain in more detail.
Do we get handouts that we do not pay for in our income taxes, or in our company's taxes (money that would have been going to employees thereby reducing our income)? I think you could say that we get less in handout value compared to how much we pay because of overhead.

It's not a handout when we pay for it. Those on unemployment pay no taxes because they have no income. So they are basically getting it for free.

I agree with this, but only because I live in a blue state....

I agree on people pulling their own weight and I am aware of and as concerned as the next guy regarding generational dependence. I've witnessed it first hand. But I don't think this involves all or perhaps even most of the 47%.
I think what we get for our taxes is under-appreciated. It's pretty tough to quantify national security, infrastructure, safe food and drugs, clean water, etc, etc, etc but they all have a value to each and every single one of us. Perhaps even more than what we put into the system.

Not every single one of those are the responsibility of the federal government. States have an impact as well. Otherwise there's no point to state taxes.

Agree, but the feds do spend money on every single one of those and we all benefit from them.

A distinction that seems to escape most libs, '07. It's only a handout if you never paid taxes in the first place.

If you're on unemployment, you've payed taxes.
Ironic side note: I just went through an WA State Employment Security audit this week. Fucking government.

If you're on unemployment, you've payed taxes.
That is a large assumption.

I was on unemployment and I paid taxes:
1) I was employed for nearly 22 years before I was laid off and my employers paid unemployment taxes that could have otherwise increased my pay.
2) Unemployment benefits are taxable - I had income tax taken out of my unemployment compensation to lessen the tax burden later.
