Everybody probably has different weights you apply when voting, just curious how you guys view your political world. Feel free to add/modify my listing - this is a first stab at my rankings, and I could be convinced to move some up or down:

Economy/unemployment
Government spending
Taxation
Wars/world police
Education
Healthcare
SS/Medicare
Immigration
Women's rights
Gay rights
Gun control

Off the top of my head -

Unemployment.
Supreme court makeup.
Wars/world police.
Govt spending.
SS/Medicare.
Healthcare.
Environment.
Separation of Church and State.
Abortion/women's rights.
Tort reform.
Gay rights.

Taxation - Care more about how it's spent, than how much I pay.
Education - A parenting issue.

No issues, just do an overall analysis and go with the least retarded candidate.

No party loyalty in either direction.

Registered Republican here, the kind they hate.

I don't know how you do that....in my case if a guy has a great plan on 75%+ of my hot button items (using some weighting system like Flaggy) I can overlook shortcomings elsewhere on gun control, gay rights, etc. I can deal with a retard as long as he's a retard that thinks like this retard. 8-)

You and I differ because I believe that without my first 2-3 items getting under control most of the rest of it can't be corrected.

That's why we vote differently. :)

Understand that these things will be weighted/ranked differently depending on how things develop. If someone threatens our national security then things get jumbled. But right now, we have to get the economy straightened out and our finances under control or we will be eating meals every 3 hours as that Chinese food flies right through us.

Jeff, I understand that Human Rights are important, but China is a hell of a lot worse than the US. Let's not fall backwards into that.

Sure, this video is propaganda, but it scares the hell out of me. :hide:

We need to start at square one........and that means EVERYONE has the same rights. If that is off the table then it no longer needs to be a "distraction". :thumb:

Wow...very little love for the environment.

The environment and economics trump all other issues and inform each other. For shame if you don't get that. :ohno:

If you don't have a healty living environment and resources or control of resources, nothing else really matters. The rest is insignificant.

I'm a big picture, long term guy...

Citizens Rights / A society cannot function properly where it's citizens are not free and equal
Government Spending / We do not have a revenue problem we have a spending problem
Foreign Policy War / We are not the world police and 700 billion is too much
Education / Complete overhaul required
Taxation / We are not over taxed, we simply have a federal government that does not honor the money it collects

It makes complete sense Z. The government prints its own money so it never really runs out and spending/taxation aren't really issues. And if for some reason they were, the government can just borrow money from income that our kids and grandkids haven't even made yet.
