God love you, Baldy. :thumb: You're a good sport and I hope you find small comfort in the fact that I did not vote for Obama or Jill Stein. IMO, if you did not vote for Gary Johnson, you wasted your vote.

God even loves hate-filled bigots, Baldy. That should give you comfort in your dark hour.

Nobody likes a sore loser, Baldy, even if you're consistent about it. :ohno:

From what I've been told, God is supposed to love everyone. I just doubt he has met you yet.

Nobody will remember Gary Johnson's name in four years and he has left no impact on this or future elections. :coffee:

Neither has Romney (unless you count Obamacare). At least Gary Johnson offered a different vision. Why do Republicans despise conservatives?

 That's a pretty big leap there. All I'm saying is a vote for Gary Johnson was a FARRRRR bigger waste than a vote for either O or Rom.

 Not a leap, what did Romney's candidacy impact? He lost, Republicans lost more seats in the Senate, and he got less votes than McCain.

All I'm saying is that the end result is the same--Romney lost. Also, a vote for who you truly support is not a wasted vote. Voting for someone that you disagree with on a myriad of issues just because he's not the other guy is a wasted vote. I am proud I did not vote for Romney or Obama, neither deserved my vote.

Please though, answer my question. Why do Republicans despise conservatives?

With Johnson getting less than 1% of the vote, at least that was not enough to affect the winner of the election.

BTW, who the hell said he would get 5% (1 in 20)? :dunce:

That's what I was saying was the big leap. Johnson was NOT a republican candidate, nor a viable winner. Why do you think they didn't vote for him?

It's a product of no one knowing about him. If Ron Paul was the candidate, I seriously think he could have gotten close to the 5%.

I'm not sure what you mean by the question, so I will let 89 answer that. :D

Meh. I'm thinking a vote for a guy that has a chance to beat the guy who you dislike the most is better than voting for the guy you like the most when you know he has no chance to win. And even if he did win, with no support in Congress, what could he get done anyway? It would be 4 years that looks like the last 2 and a half of Obamas first term.

You forgot to say, "That was me  ".

OK. On a serious note. I thought it was pretty clear that nobody knew who he was. I didn't need to see the final tally to realize that. I thought you factored that in and still thought he would get 5%.

Couple of points. I didn't say Johnson WAS (capitalizing words is necessary?) a Republican, but I did call him a conservative. I also implied that he is what Republicans used to be.

The reason Republicans didn't vote for him is because clearly the Republican Party is dishonest when it says it supports personal freedom, smaller government, and fiscal responsibility.

Gary Johnson actually does support those things, unlike Romney and the GOP. The Republican Party is not a party of conservatives, though they claim to be. So, again, why do Republicans despise conservatives? Perhaps I should say, why do Republicans despise conservatism? Or is creating an unfunded Rx drug benefit plan now considered fiscally responsible?

:wall: You can post it a dozen more times, but it won't make it any more true. Republicans didn't vote for Gary Johnson because HE DID NOT HAVE AN 'R' NEXT TO HIS NAME and he was NOT a viable candidate during yesterday's election.

Do you honestly think it would have looked different had Mitt "my views are progressive (when running in MA)" Romney been elected?

My vote was not wasted because it reflected my desire. I did not want Romney or Obama to be President in January. How is that wasting my vote?

What I find most shocking is that people actually believe that Romney would usher in change.

What is the deal with the all-caps, are you 12?

You can avoid the question all you want, doesn't make you correct.

What about the GOP since 2000 shows it supports conservatism? The GOP has clearly lost its way, and it's because it turned its back on conservatism. This concept is supported given that Republicans would rather support a self-proclaimed and proven "progressive" than a proven conservative. Pretty simple concept.

BTW, I never asked why Republicans didn't vote for Johnson last night. I asked why they despise conservatism.
