You must be suffering a severe colonic trauma this morning, so I will just point out the fact that number is excessively high this election. Wyoming is the reddest state in the union, so maybe you have a point there about education.

When a country is fed a diet of Jersey Shore, American Idol, and Chicago bullshit you really can't expect them to make a good decision. Math and critical reasoning skills are being ignored in our schools from what I can tell, especially in urban environments. We prefer rock stars who can read a good speech to someone who can actually deliver results. Class warfare and divisiveness under the guise of hope, change, and coming together is absolutely laughable. It's embarrassing that we've re-elected this clown, and more embarrassing that we couldn't find anyone out of 300M+ Americans competent enough to beat him. This election is was a true indictment of the two party system. It's no wonder we're getting our collective asses kicked in the education arena worldwide.

I'm sure you can google that Frank, and the only identified Dem county is Teton County, which is the most expensive county in the US. There is a good number of hispanics there in the service industry.

Again, one third is huge here.

True....clearly I'm no fan of the president, but I'm not sure I'd be much happier with Romney in place. It bothers me that the US electorate is so incredibly uninformed and votes based on soundbites. We don't have just a presidential problem, we have a government problem in general. I really don't hold out a lot of hope that we'll see any more compromise over the next 4 years, and that's damning both parties.

I'm not sure how her re-election is related to the numbers that I posted above. McCaskill is quite unpopular, but she took advantage of Aiken's stupidity. Aiken was leading her by 8 points before he decided to go full retard.

Percentage-wise it was technically a shift to the right from 2008.

In reality, the pendulum just swung back to the middle and you're right that no one has a mandate or the momentum. Of course, neither side is likely to admit that. They're just going to forge ahead being obstinate and pretending that they're smarter than the other side. I hope I'm wrong but I see two to four years of obstructionism, bickering and finger pointing ahead from both sides of the aisle.

Exactly. 2008 was the abberation because people were tired of Bush and they bought into 'Hope and Change'.

Even so, the Dems gained seats in the Senate which certainly is not evidence of a shift to the right.
