It will show an upward revision from last month, and the #s likely will be bad, which will hurt Obama. It would be an absolute crock if they don't get it released before the elecdtion, as it could sway the election..

If it's withheld to protect the President, then I agree, it's a crock.
If it's withheld because of the storm, then so be it. Won't be the first time a report has been delayed.

Nobody cares about reports, the lines are drawn, and everybody knows what line you stand behind.

This is way off. I and all my friends are waiting for the last jobs report to make our decision on who to vote for. If its not released Friday, we're all voting for Obama. If we don't get this critical piece of data, we can only assume that the President is doing a terrific job.

At 47-47 in Ohio I'd say it's a big deal.

Considering every recent report has been downgraded in the following weeks...

That doesn't mean the anyone is lying, it just brings the methodology into question.
But hey, nice job laying the groundwork in case you need to spin away on Friday.

Wouldn't the numbers being revised both up and down bring the methodolgy into question?

Consistently one way gives me the impression that something is being done incorrectly every time. But I see what you a alluding to, it does leave open the possibility that something is being done intentionally for the Presidents benefit.
Up and down would give me the impression that someone doesn't know what they are doing.

Which is worse, incompetent or deceitful?

I would say deceitful, but I don't think that is the case.

He's not spanos, but he is trying to have his cake and eat it too. He says the report is a big deal, but he is also laying the ground work to discredit the report if it's good for the President.

I'm pretty sure that he was kidding. At least I hope so.

Not completely.
1. Delayed and bad = suspicious
2. On time and good = grain of salt (based on the most recent ones that have been overstated)
3. On time and bad = bad for Obama
4. Delayed and good = my bad

Not much change, probably minimal affect on voters.

What is the REAL unemployment number? It's closer to 15%.

Sssshhhhh. That was only relevant when this was still Bush's recession.

Not to defend Obama's policies but where was it in 2009? I remember progressive economist quoting the U6 a ton back then. Now it's fashionable for conks I guess.
