People on the Internet are stupid....

I'm seeing people talking impeachment for President Obama.

What?!?

Forget for the moment whether or not he's done anything worthy of impeachment. Think strictly of the TIMING of this whining. It makes no freaking sense right now. First off, if the someone were to introduce articles of impeachment in the House today, does anyone seriously believe that with the way our government operates that actual charges could pass the House AND result in a completed Senate trial (with conviction or acquittal) before the inauguration? Hardly likely.

Also consider this. If President Obama is voted out, the effort spent in getting him impeached is wasted. Even if one could conceivably get him convicted before the election, if he wins the election, you've STILL wasted your time because he's technically "out," then right back in at the inauguration, with about two or three months of Biden as President. (Does ANYONE REALLY want that?!?)

I'm not saying there's anything to impeach him over, but the best thing to do if you're even considering it is to wait until after the inauguration. If Romney wins the election, problem solved, no impeachment necessary. If Obama wins, filing AFTER the inauguration would actually mean something. Unfortunately, then you're back to the problem of a Biden presidency. I just can't see how making Biden President is better than having Obama as President. Seems to me one should focus on getting Romney in via the election or just toughing it out until 2016....

Impeach him for what?

You know, I never really got that part of it. I mean, I'm sure there's bound to be some backlash at the backhanded way he jammed ObamaCare through despite questions of its Constitutionality, the way he's backdoored the Congress militarily, and how he took personal credit for things the military actually did. Plus there's the Fast and Furious thing and the Benghazi thing.

But I'm not exactly certain where there are any impeachable offenses in there. Offensive and worth voting out, yes. But there's a much higher standard to be met for impeachment, and I'm one conservative who's not convinced that that has been met. Plus, there's the general misconception about the whole process that's still around despite the Clinton impeachment: people still tend to think that impeachment is tantamout to getting kicked out. No, that's not bothering to read the Constitution. The House drafts articles, which are then voted on. If the articles pass, then there is a Senate trial. Only if the President is convicted in the Senate is he booted; the mere act of passing articles is worthless. I think that about all conservatives who want to "go there" have to go on is the threat of Obama getting kicked out so that he resigns a la Nixon. The problem is that I don't think Obama is dumb enough to fall for that. There's just nothing there that rises to the level of impeachment, and even if there is, there's not enough time to pull it off in time for it to do any good.
