Whatever side you're on, this is a fantastic debate...one of the best I've ever watched. Also, a lot of credit goes to Raddatz who has been a great moderator.

I have to disagree. She has yet to ask Biden for any facts and plans like she has asked Ryan on four occasions. Not to mention, she keeps letting Biden interrupt. Shut up man, I want to hear both sides.

Not to mention, Biden is coming off as a total ass. It's one thing to be on the offensive, but it is another to be offensive.

Biden is being aggressive. It's exactly what Romney did; it's what good debaters do.

He is doing his job, he is being an attack dog. He is not going to let anything Ryan says go by without being challenged. It's what Obama should have done last week.

The post debate spin will consist of the Dems saying what a great job Biden did and the GOP saying what an ass Biden is.

And it's what Obama didn't do last week.

If Biden loses this debate it won't be because he didn't fight back. Win or lose, Biden is swinging away.

Agreed. But what will the undecideds have to say?

I'm not voting for either, and I'd say it's been pretty evenly matched. Biden's been forceful, but he definitely knows his shit on foreign policy.

I have no idea. Biden does seem to be a bit too aggressive, so if I had to guess I'd say the independents will favor Ryan by a small margin.

When it's all said and done, I doubt if this debate will have much effect on the outcome of the election.

IIRC that is a big part of the reason Obama picked him as a running mate. Biden is a sharp guy, with the noteable exception of when he sticks his foot in his mouth.

Obviously I am biased, but between Biden interrupting Ryan, laughing and rambling, I don't know what his stance is on foreign affairs.

The real-time polls from the major networks seem to have Biden winning.

It probably doesn't matter in the grand scheme since these guys don't have any significant powers...

...except being one heartbeat away from the Presidency of course.

Sure, but I also have a problem listening to two people talking at once. You should see me try to talk on the phone when someone else is talking to me!

I don't think a VP debate has ever mattered.

I love that one. "I hope I get equal time from the guy who won't shut up".

It's a clever move on Biden's part. Say everything that you need to say, and then try and make it sound as if the other guy was given a break.

If Biden talked too much, it's because Ryan wasn't forceful enough. It's a debate, not afternoon tea.

Ryan's closing statement just looks awkward and horrendously scripted.

This debate was terrible. I would give Biden the edge. He definitely filled the attack dog job he was supposed to do. Ryan is definitely smart but he's too detailed and that doesn't work in sound bite land.

The moderator is terrible.

To paraphrase Charles Krauthammer, Joe Biden is the Herbert Hoover of American Foreign Policy.

He has an ever growing history of being on the wrong side of history concerning US foreign policy.

Ryan was respectful, Biden was an azz and very much not Vice Presidential. He was a hack.

He was exactly Vice Presidential. The VP's only job is to be the POTUS' attack dog, and that is what he was tonight.

I wonder how many people turned it off because they thought it was an episode of Crossfire instead of a debate.
