I'll take a stab at the less obvious.
IT is a lawyer and presumably has to do quite a bit of talking at work. Plus, he's knows he's right, quite insistent on it, and believes his chirping truly annoys you.
You are some sort of an engineer. I know a few engineers (one of which is a great friend) and I have found them to be 1) weird and sometimes aloof 2) introverted, and 3) not to suffer blowhards kindly, taking the occasional swat when they've had enough.
Probably way off.
