Good to see that the scientific method has been co-opted by committee.

Always liked Hitchens.
Hitchens vs D'Souza are great debates.

Did you even listen to the whole thing...
Or was it too difficult to get past the idea that he used committee (A Christian Committee) to determine Human time scale..?
The punchline is brilliant BTW

Quite clever. Not a revelation of original thought, but very funny. Not too fond of having my ancestors referred to as some of the most barbaric, backward, superstitious humans on the planet, but otherwise.....

Agreed...
I don't think they were anymore superstitious
Certainly not barbaric in my opinion but absolutely backwards in comparison to MANY MANY other areas of the globe in that time

but his point is damn funny
and reveals the obvious flaw in human powers of observation - that each generation - believes it's the most important EVER and the only relevant humans on the planet ever.
When the pyramids were built in 2500 B.C.
Cleopatra was born in 69 B.C. she was closer in time to us right now then she was to when The Pyramids were constructed

A lot of shit has happened between now and 6 thousand years ago
The absolute relevancy of one peoples / One culture / one story is virtually meaningless

Well, I don't know about the rest of you dumbasses, but I'm a freaking phenomenon!!

And I'm just hitting my stride.
All joking aside, humanity has made amazing advancements in the last 100 years when compared to the first 149,900. At our current pace, the next 150,000 should be pretty fun to watch.

I can't wait for the next 50 years let alone 150,000. I am definitely happy to be living right now than any time in the past.
