Big win for freedom in general- The government allows cigarettes, but doesn't want people to be allowed to drink raw milk? Ridiculous.

Raw milk is riskier than pasteurized milk but people should be able to make their own decisions about whether or not to buy it anyway.
The most common argument I hear when I get into debates about this with some of my colleagues is that it can be provided to children and it's not their choice. My position is that people make decisions about their children that involve risk all the time. You decide to let your kid go swimming. You decide to let your kid play football. You decide to let your kid ride his or her bike down the street. All of those decisions, and many others, involve the potential for choosing one scenario that involves a higher risk than another that might be chosen.
I think the Public Health establishment, in general, has gone too far in this country. The raw milk thing is just one example of that.
It's not like the whole point of life is risk reduction and disease prevention.
