Committee Approves Bill Establishing Weather Modification Program

The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee voted Thursday (March 2005) to approve a bill by Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison establishing a weather modification program.

“It is critical that we assess and evaluate the efficacy of weather modification research to the extent that lives are saved and property damage is limited,” Hutchison said.

“This work is vital, especially as we near the end of such a devastating hurricane season.”

The bill would create a Weather Modification Subcommittee within the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and would gather outside experts on a board to advise the subcommittee to expand the scientific understanding of modifying the weather.

“Hurricanes Rita and Katrina and the recent tornados and violent storms in the Midwest took many lives and destroyed both property and the environment,” Hutchison said.

“By developing sustained research we can provide answers to the issues of predictability and reliability of weather modification research.”

So, looks like the plan is- they're going to screw with our weather, and blame it on man-made global warming. Then, they'll say the rising food prices are a result of man-made global warming, instead of what's really happening- our weather getting fu ked with by the government and private companies.

If you really want to split hairs, weather has been getting modified ever since the first gnat on the planet farted. Everything since then has been a matter of scale. I would think the billions of tons of particulates we've injected into our atmosphere since the beginning of the industrial revolution have played a far greater part in climate change than a couple of bills put through Congress seven years ago.

I just find it interesting that our weather is "changing" right at the same time our government is doing large-scale weather modification projects.. and they never stop and ask "could we be responsible for the "changes" in our weather?

No, they say, the changes in our weather are because of CO2 (which is a lie, because CO2 has been much higher at other periods in the Earth's history and it was cooler).

Also, there is a large "weather derivatives" industry now, which is basically betting how the weather will be in the future. People are influencing this industry by doing private weather modification projects.. they don't care about the possible health risks to the population, they just want to make a quick billion dollars.

However, what the government is doing (largely in secret) and what they're using to modify our weather is mostly classified. If you look at the increases in aluminum toxicity in soil all over the country- It's a new trend, and it seems like the weather modification crap is the reason for it.

Aluminum being sprayed in the air would be a huge health risk (alzheimers), and aluminum in the soil slows plant growth.

Actually I've been frustrated that we haven't developed a technology to defuse tropical storms/hurricanes. I'm downright sick of those things. I am all for having a weather modification program.
