The faking of violence by Syrian "rebels" and blaming it on the Assad government has been caught time and time again, with the media going along with it. The media is just the propaganda arm of the military sadly, showing the "rebels" as the saviors, when in fact they are just paid mercenaries.

The entire "Arab Spring" isn't what people think it is, it is a coordinated attack on "non friendly" governments in the Middle East, using NATO backing, with the goal of installing puppet governments friendly to NATO.

The American people are sick of our soldiers overthrowing governments in the Middle East, so it's time to send in the fake "rebels" and back them financially.

This was my first thought as well. Not that Spanos will let this get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.

When Wesley Clark said that 7 countries would be invaded in 5 years (in 2007) and named Libya and Syria.. certainly this is just a "conspiracy theory" as well!
