I hope some of you lefties weigh in on this....
It was posted on a social networking site by one of my old frat brothers who was born in Cuba and is die hard conservative (like almost every Cuban) that a couple of the conservative media watchdog groups watched MSNBC last night and noted that MSNBC did not show ANY of the minority speakers who addressed the convention.
Is this true???
If so this is yet another example of the worst kind of bias...

I flipped over to see their coverage but it was just to see Madow's reaction to the Christie speech. Matthews disagreed with her take on the speech, which was interesting because he demonstrated that he could actually disagree with someone in a civil manner without calling them raaaaasaacist or "garbage".

People watch MSNBC and FoxNews for unbiased news coverage? That's news to me.

Here's HotAir... apparently MSNBC did ignore all of the minority speakers. The theory being that it the presence if those speakers flies in the face of the tired old narrative MSNBC is trying to propagate.

THe RNC needs a Face Lift. All people see form the Grand Ole Party is, Over 40, WHITE and MALE. Now I know that there are several Minorites and Women in the party but perception is everything. MIke Steele tried to tell the RNC this but then he was Fired.

Nobody is watching these conventions in order to make up their minds how they are going to vote, these days the undecided vote is extremely small. I would guess only Romney fans are actually paying any attention to these speeches, and the converse will be true when the Dems begin their pow-wow.

Right you are... and if certain TV networks don't show the true diversity of the party they are perpetuating the incorrect perception, which IMO is lying.

And when they do take a candidate that doesn't fit this mold, they either don't show them or say they are only parading them around for politcal gain.
Without doing a google search, guess which canditate for the Utah House district 4 is which(R/D):
1) 52 year old white guy, famous family from the state
2) 37 year old black woman, child of immigrants.

Basically the Republican Party is the Party most whites vote for and the Democratic Party is the Party most non whites vote for.
I don't know why there is a tendency to criticize the Republican Party for the fact that most "minority" voters don't vote for them. One could just as well question minority voters who vote like zombies overwhelmingly for Democrats every time.
No Democratic Presidential candidate has won the majority of the White vote in a Presidential election since at least as far back as when Nixon ran against Humphrey in 1968. Not even Clinton. And it's not just White men over 40 either. For example: In 2008 the majority of White men voted against Obama and the majority of White women did too. So did the majority of every White age group except for the youngest one (they'll know better when they grow up).
Why is there something "bad" about White people supporting Republicans but not something "bad" about non Whites supporting Democrats?
