Bison Fan, you're responding to psycoCAT. He didn't name himself that by accident. In this case, it is a literal term.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:psychoCAT wrote:The last 5 years has officially proven that trickle down economics doesn't work. We need another FDR....now!
You actually believe this? WOW is all I can say. Let the government take care of all of our needs.
Where are the jobs, Baldy?Baldy wrote:Bison Fan, you're responding to psycoCAT. He didn't name himself that by accident. In this case, it is a literal term.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:

Yeah this. We need another Reagan...someone who can really distribute the wealth upward so that jobs can be created.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:psychoCAT wrote:The last 5 years has officially proven that trickle down economics doesn't work. We need another FDR....now!

True, and the poor innocent banks never lobbied for deregulation and nobody made a buck off it.Baldy wrote:FIFYkalm wrote:No no no. The economy was ruined by the government using its police powers to "encourage" the banks to victimize poor, colored people.
But...but...the rich don't pay their fair share...BlueHen86 wrote:We have too many people with entitlements. I don't mind helping someone out who is down on their luck, but when it becomes a lifestyle it becomes a problem. We need to restructure our entitlement programs so that work (even low paying work) becomes the more attractive option.
We also need to get the wealthy to invest in our markets. It doesn't help if the rich sit on their money or send it overseas. Raising taxes on the rich shouldn't be the first option. We should restructure the tax laws so that they have incentive to hire americans.
I realize that the above is easier said than done, but everything is easier said than done. Right now it seems that both parties spend more time blaming the other party than they do trying to solve problems.
This I agree with:Col Hogan wrote:

I challenge one donk on this board to tell me what would be "their fair share"
From the Congressional Budget Office...
Taxes paid by highest incomes
•The top 1% pay 22.7% of taxes.
•The top 10% pay 50% of taxes.
•The top 20% pay 65.3% of taxes.
•The top 40% pay 84.3% of taxes.
Taxes paid by lowest incomes
•The bottom 20% pay 1.1% of taxes.
•The bottom 40% pay 6.1% of taxes

So, that would be their fair share, since the top 40% already pay almost 85% now???
Yeah, because we all know that the U.S. economy and the rest of the world haven't changed one bit since the 1980s.kalm wrote:Yeah this. We need another Reagan...someone who can really distribute the wealth upward so that jobs can be created.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:

Do you have the stats for taking advantage of tax loopholes?Col Hogan wrote:But...but...the rich don't pay their fair share...BlueHen86 wrote:We have too many people with entitlements. There is NOT a revenue shortage
We have a spending problem - the tax structure is fine just as it is - although we are in NEED of a FairTax system
Lets:
1) Reduce military pentagon budget by 50% - put the now unemployed military soldiers on the new highway and bridge and infrastructure rebuilds - so they can work
2) Get rid of 65% percent of the global military bases (we have over 800)
3) Privatize the TSA
4) Privatize our all time lowest performing Education system - just sh!t can it now and start over
Remove the lifetime payment plan for our UNION employed Federal Government
Once you're out of politics - good luck and welcome to the world you made - the real world
And that matters how???mainejeff wrote:Do you have the stats for taking advantage of tax loopholes?Col Hogan wrote:

On # 2, I agree 100%
On # 3, I'd take it a huge step further...break up DHS...
On #4, get rid of the Dept of Education and return that money to the states...
See, we can find solutions...
