Sorry guys, it was against the law in that state. Law might need to be changed, but I don't think you can really say it shouldn't have been prosecuted.

Sentencing is something different. But I don't really feel bad for her. She's banging five students while her husband is away on duty. She could have gotten 20 years under this law.

Either way, she broke the law. Fix the law, but don't complain about a jury following it.

Agree, the fact that these kids are of age should've removed the criminal element. Revoke her teaching certificate for breaking a rule against student/teacher realtion but jail is BS.

I understand that a law is a law regardless of whether I agree with it. Based on the laws on the books the judge was forced to sentance her, but the law is stupid. Being banned from teaching is enough punishment IMO.

The sentencing was done by jury. The prosecutor asked for 20 years.

Hen, I GET that. I get that they didn't have a "choice", per se. But that doesn't make the CONCEPT of this type of legal conduct palatable.

And my point is: we have ICE, DEA and local authorities openly ignoring immigration laws and failing to detain and deport illegals unless they've broken some "other" law, so what makes THIS any different?

Maybe somebody inside is wanting five years of free instruction from the teach..

Group sex is abnormal human sexual interaction and should be outlawed in all states. 5 years in lenient, imo.
