Voted for Medicare Part D, forbidding the government to negotiate on drug prices
Voted for the War in Iraq and all emergency funding bills
Voted for Tarp and stimulus

Has never had a career outside of D.C.

Most meaningful legislation he's sponsored and that has passed has something to do with arrows.

And this doesn't even get into his Budget Plan which does very little anytime soon toward balancing things and is basically just a Randian giveaway to the heroic "producers".

I might have to re-think my opinion on Ryan being a good choice. Not so sure his good looks and charisma will be enough to hide the substance of his thoughts.

Lots of people in Congress cast regrettable votes for TARP and the like. They were sold a fake bill of goods, too. It's good to know that many of them learned their lesson.

So I don't get it - the left rails against hard right politicians that cling completely to a "no tax increase" pledge and show no flexibility to work around that, but then when a right wing politician shows flexibility and can bounce from one side of the political chasm to the other, he's labeled as a hypocrite? Is it no wonder that we don't have a lot of politicians that can work with the other side these days when we ourselves criticize the politicians that do that?

1) What part of a "no tax increase" pledge is flexible?

2) Everybody, wants deficits reduced. Some people recognize that you still have to pay for things like wars, homeland security departments etc.
