Kids were molested at Fordham and Citadel and according to statistics, shit happens at other schools. Where's the Penn State has deep pockets argument, so they're unfairly singled out?
Wasn't that dude who did that report saying the catholic church is no different than any other org when it comes to raping children a Penn State guy. Jenkins?

About what?
According to a copy of a 1997 settlement available online, the ensuing lawsuit involving Father O’Brien was settled for $25,000. In addition to the Jesuit priest, the New York Province of the Society of Jesus, the Archdiocese of New York, Fordham University, and Fordham Prep were named in the settlement and released from any “past, alleged or actual, current and future liabilities.”

$25,000 = nuisance value.

Or hush money. Any reasonable innocent person would have fought those charges vigorously and thoroughly. Fordham settled to silence the victim and avoid further scrutiny that in many cases reveals further cases of abuse. This is a common catholic ruse used with great success.

The difference between Jerry and Skip is that Skip confessed. The Citadel and Pinewood Prep are both being sued. The Citadel failed, as Penn State did but Pinewood is in the clear. This fucker was the tennis coach at my high school, but either he didn't do anything there or those victims are part of the 20+ victims that won't come forward.

Another difference is that The Citadel did an investigation that was documented. The admin should have simply called the police, but ultimately there wasn't an allegation of molestation and there were no witnesses to actual molestation as there was in the Penn St case. I'm not a big fan of how The Citadel handled things, but I'm confident that what they did was in good faith, just not the best judgment.
