We're coming down to the wire. Who do you think Romney will select? A recent report cites Condi Rice at the top of the list. :coffee:

That might be a nice move but then again she's tied to Bush and Iraq and might be one of the most patronizing, annoying personalities in all of politics.

Looks like Pawlenty or Portman. Condi won't do it, and Rubio has some baggage. I had hoped it would be Rubio, because he might have helped get some Hispanic votes for Romney in swing states like FL and NM.

Next to Barack Hussein Obama, I suppose. :coffee:

Imagine the VP debates (and SNL skits) - with Hilary seething on the sidelines...

I saw some reports touting Cain and a member of the House, as well as the Rice reports. I've seen ZERO on Pawlenty and even less on Queen Amidala. Haven't seen much on Rubio in recent weeks, either.

Something else to think about...is President Obama going to stand pat with Mr. Foot in His Mouth (who did it AGAIN this week, it seems, with a sex joke about his own parents that went over like a lead balloon), or will he follow in the long line of sitting Presidents who have gone in another direction for what he thinks is a foregone conclusion of a second term? And if he DOES go looking, does Hillary get it this time? Or does he make the mistake of the millenium and go for Pelosi?

That was a crack on this "Portman" dude people keep referencing. Queen Amidala was the mother of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. She was portrayed by Natalie Portman.

:dunce:

you didn't get the joke with the Portman name? Come on, andy, when SH says something close to funny, you have to at least acknowledge it.

Natalie Portmon played that her in Star Wars. SH is just being his usual dork self.

SH, lets try to stay on topic. You know deep down that you hope Sarah Palin gets the nod.

Hiliary? Pelosi? Yeah, that's his plan. For fucks sake, do you even pay attention? There has been hardly any mention of him. He said he would consider, but there is absolutly zero noise coming out about this. The only person we know who is being vetted, Rubio, would be a good choice to shore up the swing states and Latino votes.

I wouldn't discount Condi. I know she's said she isn't looking to get into politics but think about it. Romney picks a well educated, strong black woman that understands foreign policy.

I know who Queen Amidala is on Star Wars. I guess I get the portmon reference now. I was blinded by trying to connect Amidala with Palin.

I read your nonsensical post where you forgo names for pet names and as usual, forgo facts. Yes, I read that travesty of a post. Did you get distracted by wanting some divisive woman over a qualified candidate?

That and unlike SH, you don't give out vague references and cute nicknames to people. Like a sane person, you call them by thier names. Obama is Obama. Palin is Palin. To SH, Obama is Darky Dark Monkey Lips and Palin is Messiah.

SH. Have you ever seen the "Professional" or "V for Vendetta"?

They are both terrific. Maybe next time you could use "Ma-til-da" instead

That's just a bit over the top, Mark. Not once have I played the race card on the President. Why would I have to? I've voted for an African American before. He just so happened to be Republican. I have no problem with the color of a man (or woman's) skin if s/he can do the job. It just so happens that the one in office now has been an epic failure. That has NOTHING to do with skin color. It has EVERYTHING to do with presenting oneself as Messiah, finding rather spectacularly that one is NOT, grasping at straws that don't work, and playing the blame game LONG after any logical person would have dropped it. President Obama simply got in over his head because he didn't have the training for the job. He his platform consists of THREE things: EVERYTHING is Bush's fault, I jammed ObamaCare through (and that's not even done yet), and I got Mr. Osama. The problem is that every step of the way, he has trampled on the Constitution, and that just doesn't cut it.

Yes, I'd love to have Sarah Palin in the White House. But Condi would make a great choice, too. She would do a MUCH better job, IMO, simply because she is familiar with what's going on in the White House before she steps foot into the office. She also has the educational credentials to ensure that she actually understands what's going on. Unlike the incumbent....

Condi is candy for conks, but kalm is right, she has Iraq and George W Bush spooge all over her face and dress, Mitt does not want to be associated with the crazy neocons any more than he has to, ironically Dick Cheney raised 4 million bucks in Wilson, Wy last night for Mitt, touting him as the right choice for foreign policy and war making.

Nobody is going to shore up the latino vote for Mitt, that is a lost cause, same with the women voters.

Herman Cain?

I say SH indeed cracked a funny there, but possibly Winnie The Poo would make Mitt as good a running mate as he can find these days.

You vastly underestimate how important identity politics is with a lot of ignorant people. If someone is really dumb enough to believe things like the "war on women" canard then they are dumb enough that they'd vote on something superficial as feeling like you identify with a veep because you share ethnicity or a sex chromosome with them.
