Catholic Bishops Fail to Meet Child Abuse Deadline

This is just sad. Classic catholic doublespeak. Only the catholic church can get away with calling "more than half" a success. Another example of the church not giving a fuck about children.
Seriously, how hard can "anti-child abuse guidelines" be to draft? They've had years to do this and why does it require a "Vatican mandate?" One would think that the only true church of christ, the worldwide moral authority, the only church speaking for jesus - the objective source of truth and morality would already have guidelines essentially dealing with "do not fuck children."????
In other news, the child abuse scandal is exploding in Australia.
The key element here is the government is getting involved and strong steps are being taken to do what our government should have done decades ago and raid the church and forced them to turn over their pedophiles. Can you imagine if IBM or Boeing was raping children by the thousands and trying to cover it up? They would have been shut down. The church is the only entity who can get away with molesting and beating children on an industrial scale and get absolutely no attention from law enforcement as well as be allowed to investigate iteself! This is akin to Enron investigating and punishing itself.
The brainwashed masses are supporting rapists and pedophiles.

*oooh, a letter of reminder!By Carol Glatz

VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- The majority of bishops' conferences in the Americas, Europe and Asia have complied with a Vatican mandate to draw up anti-abuse guidelines, said the Vatican's top investigator of clerical sex abuse.
Without counting Africa, "more than half of the conferences responded" by the May deadline, Msgr. Charles Scicluna of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith said in an interview with the Italian monthly Catholic magazine Jesus.
All those who did not send in their proposed guidelines would be getting "a letter of reminder," he added.![]()
