SCOTUS upholds mandate. Roberts sides with the Left in his decision. THis is definetly a game changer. So, what else can the Gov't force us to buy?

Ha. Good one.
Then why does the CNN headline say "Correction: SCOTUS Backs All Parts of Obamacare"?

Somebody's confused somewhere.

I think the decision surprised some of the networks - CNN- in a rush to get it first, got it wrong and Fox is so stunned they haven't even put on their site yet what the decision even was.

Roberts himself voted to uphold the legislation - by a 5-4 margin.

Move on, nothing more to see here.

Man, I guess we'll have to watch out for angry right-wingers shooting up federal buildings for a few weeks.

We are traveling through Utah right now, I heard a roar of applause then a groan when they realized that this vote was for Obama's version and not the one their Mormon hero instituted...

The court ruled that the mandate is unconstitutional, but it can stay as part of Congress's power under a taxing clause. The court said that the government will be allowed to tax people for not having health insurance.

"The Affordable care act's requirement that certain individuals pay a financial penalty for not obtaining health insurance may reasonably characterized as a tax. Because the Constitution permits such a tax, it is not our role to forbid it, or to pass upon its wisdom or fairness," the court said in the ruling.

Now reading the CNN bloggers try to defend their fuggup:

Lisa Desjardins: "Important to say that (obviously) this is a complicated ruling and Roberts' did say indiv. mandate could not stand under Commerce Clause."

Wow. In reading about the Obamacare ruling, I stumbled upon a ruling earlier in the day. SCOTUS found that lies are protected under the first amendment and it is not a crime to lie about earning military medals.

Hot damn. My resume just got a little but longer.

I'm trying to get involved with a National Science Foundation project that works with the Antartica base. I'd love to go down there. A buddy of mine here in the gubmit has been a few times.

So basically, the opinion of the majority is that the mandate is pretty much a tax. Brilliant. So i guess it's okay for us to pay taxes to private businesses now. I say we start paying taxes to all the donk's trial lawyer friends and cut out the middle men.

You know, I was pretty sure I was going to vote third party or indy but I think I've got to go with Romney now. This abortion of a health care "reform" law needs to be destroyed.
