Niemeyer wrote that its shape makes the original Massachusetts map that gave gerrymandering its name look "tame by comparison." "This is more reminiscent of a broken-winged pterodactyl, lying prostrate across the center of the state," Niemeyer wrote.

I'm not saying I never said that, but I definitely didn't vote for him, and that would have only been after maybe a month.

Life is simple out there. The congressional districts match perfectly with the state boundary.

Iowa has more than one district, unlike these cool states

The other elephant in the room is that Iowa only has white people, so there's no reason to gerrymander. They just divide it up into the white people in that corner, the white people in that corner, etc...

I think Iowa divides their districts based on corn or soybean.

I'm sorry. Only 96% according to the 2000 census. You are so right. Iowa is a true melting pot.
