Federal justices who heard the case against the map: ‘took particular note of the 3rd District, represented by Rep. John Sarbanes. Niemeyer wrote that its shape makes the original Massachusetts map that gave gerrymandering its name look "tame by comparison." "This is more reminiscent of a broken-winged pterodactyl, lying prostrate across the center of the state," Niemeyer wrote.

I remember when 89 "didn't dislike" and "had no real problem with" O'Malley during his first term.

I'm not saying I never said that, but I definitely didn't vote for him, and that would have only been after maybe a month.

Life is simple out there. The congressional districts match perfectly with the state boundary.

You just need to spend hours driving to your next door neighbor. We get it, lots of open space out there.

The other elephant in the room is that Iowa only has white people, so there's no reason to gerrymander. They just divide it up into the white people in that corner, the white people in that corner, etc...
