The military is heavily involved with the production of certain movies. But I agree with Bobcats issue here.

Bobcat is a whackjob who rocketed to fame on a set of warped vocal cords. I rest my case. :coffee:

I believe that's a voice he puts on. I've heard him speak before and he sounds normal...for a guy nicknamed Bobcat.

Bobcat had a hand in telling Nikki Cox she needed plastic surgery.

He's a pretty bright dude. Heard an interview with him a few weeks back on his new movie and he was very sharp. I rented his latest movie last week and it was very good. It's violent satire and I loved it.

If you discount the person because of a character he played then that's up to you but the movies he does are not your normal stuff.

That clip reminds me of a similar movie, "Heathers," a late 80s black comedy. You should check it out if you haven't seen it already. It seems like the same kind of movie that makes you laugh while at the same time you feel guilty for laughing.

Except Christian Slater's character was just as vacuous as his victims.

GBA appears to be more reminiscent of Falling Down - anti-villians employing horrendous means to achieve noble goals.

Big fan of Heathers.

There are some similarities and I really liked Heathers at the time as well so maybe it has something to do with the "what if" factor of just taking out dickheads. You mix Falling Down & Heathers and you get an idea of what this one is about.

Didn't see that you referenced Falling Down but you nailed it.

Never saw Falling Down. I'm going to rent both these films when I get a chance. Haven't seen Heathers in years, so maybe I'll rent that too and make it a trifecta.

Haven't seen this move, but I'd guess any character that goes around wasting "dickheads," just because they're dickheads, has got to be a bit of dickhead himself. Isn't that the point of the black humor: some unsuspecting dickhead doesn't know when he or she is going to encounter a guy who's even more of a dickhead -- and violent on top of it?

Some years ago, I was leaving an electronics store on Rt 17 in Paramus when I saw in the parking lot a notorious NJ wiseguy, with a reputation for violence, getting into a black BMW with tinted windows. The wiseguy then proceeds to enter the traffic on Route 17 by not stopping at the exit. Instead he cruises at a pretty high rate of speed onto the shoulder and then, without stopping, right into the first lane of traffic.

I was watching from my car from behind as the car which had been in the first lane swerved into the middle lane. The driver let go with a long and loud blast of his horn as he passed by the wiseguy. He was waving his middle finger and you could see that he was yelling curses as he stared over at the wiseguy's guy.

I was thinking to myself that the driver was a dick but he had no idea that there was a far bigger dickhead driving the BMW. I half expected the wiseguy to pull out a gun and blast the other driver away.

Heather's was intriguing.

This discussion reminds me of a Hunter S. Thompson quote:

"The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over."

Hunter sort went over the edge at the end, I'd guess.

Hunter S. Thompson was a unique talent. Unfortunately, since he came on the scene, so many people have tried to write "gonzo" journalism and prose without "gonzo" talent.
