1) Boortz, like any good conservative is obviously very scared of educated masses.
2) What a pussy for not having enough conviction to actually deliver the speech.
3) Then again, there so much fail in that speech maybe he read it several times and found the wisdom to think better of it.

If conks are so afraid of educated masses, why do the teachers unions oppose teaching economics and finance in high schools?

Do they?
In any event, I think economics and finance, especially personal finance, are two of the very most important topics to teach in high schools.
Also civics.

If you bothered to look it up, you would know that Boortz wrote the speech as a spoof in response to the fact that he had never been invited to give a commencement speech, so it really wasnt his call or lack of balls.
You would also know that since he penned the speech he has been invited to give commencement addresses.
As for him being scared of educated masses, that's just typical liberal nonsense hyperbole on your part. You sound defensive.

She mentioned to me that she had corn and collard greens in anticipation of being rimmed by you. Hope you had a toothpick handy.

Hyperbole? Hyperbole you say....

His entire faux speech was filled with hyperbole about the evil twisted liberal influence on education.
As I've acknowledged before, there are certainly issues in education, and it certainly has it's share of libtards. But my experience growing up in Cheney Public Schools, Spokane Community College, and EWU was outstanding and almost completely devoid of politics. There were teachers all along the way that moonlighted as businessman whether it was a summertime home irrigation business, or financial planning, leaving a career in the private sector to teach, etc that had tons of experience in the "real world".
My two son's education is going along a very similar path where the education is highly professional, comprehensive, and based in real world scenarios.
But I understand it's not that way everywhere.
I actually enjoyed where Boortz started with the non-conformist angle. And yes, there needs to be some shit cleaned up for sure. But then he drifted widely into a partisan rant, swinging and missing many opportunities, sounding very much like David Horowitz.
Bottom line is more people are educated these days and they are choosing a more progressive view of the world based on KNOWLEDGE. And that freaks the fuck out of douchebags like Boortz.
So forgive me if I didn't want to dig into the background story.

A conservative radio talk show host with a college education? You don't see that everyday.

@ the fucktards who think Boortz is actually a conservative.
However, judging by some of the overly sensitive comments, Boortz pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Boortz is a Conk, Baldy. On the Conk evolutionary spectrum, he's between Cheney and Carrie Nation.

Boortz is about as libertarian as it gets...
For example: he has no problem with gays or gay marriage and thinks the "war on drugs" is foolish and a waste of money.
However, he is VERY fiscally conservative, is in favor of the rule of law, and REALLY hates the moocher class and their enablers in the democratic party.

Yeah I sensed that, too. Got several paragraphs out of Kalm, even, with a bunch of conciliatory caveats.
"Yeah, he's kinda right, but he's still wrong."

Sound like the kind of guy I could share a beer with.
