Of course, losing 88% of your faculty and staff over their refusal to sign a morality pledge that contained bans on homosexuality, premarital sex, and drinking.

Shorter certainly has the right to ban those, and kudos to the staff for standing u0p for THEIR beliefs.

So if you can handle the above, and want to live in GA, here ya go...

That's batsh** insane.

A lot of students are really going to get f***ed over, but I can't say I blame the faculty. It's one thing to ban soddomy or premarital sex but another when you can lose your job because someone saw you ordering a wine at Applebees.

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with their statement of faith or their teaching standards, although I would agree with Pwns that getting fired for wine over dinner at a restaurant takes it a bit far. The positive there is that there is the implication that it is permissible to consume alcohol AT HOME, so long as one does not do so within six hours of a school-sponsored function. That's consistent with the standards I saw in the Navy, at least in terms of standing duty.

Thanks for the notice, Jon. Unfortunately, I think GA would be a bit much of a culture shock for me. Not to mention the stinking humidity. I guess I'm a wuss....

Has anyone sent this link to Travis yet? Dunno if alcohol would be a problem for him, but short of them setting up a webcam in his bedroom how would they know if he tells a little fib on his application?

Unless of course he already has a webcam set up in his bedroom... :ohno:

We have Bob Jones University here, so I'm sorta used to it. Bob called Billy Graham a radical back in the day.
