Last week, Mitt Romney hired Richard Grenell as his new foreign policy spokesman. Grenell was President Bush’s communications director at the United Nations for eight years, and has been a spokesman for a handful of prominent Republicans such as George Pataki and Dave Camp.

Along with his qualifications, Grenell is also gay.
But NO WAY is CNN liberally biased....... :ohno:
When the campaign announced the hire, Grenell’s sexual orientation wasn’t noted in media coverage, nor, arguably, should it have been. He got in a bit of a tangle for scrubbing his Twitter profile to erase messages he wrote about Newt Gingrich and his wife, but that was about the only newsworthy development in the hiring announcement.

That is, until a gay-bashing radio host at the American Family Association wrote in his blog that by appointing Grenell, Romney was telling the so-called pro-family community to “drop dead.” CNN amplified that message from Bryan Fischer by inviting him on for an interview.
“The homosexual agenda represents the single-greatest threat to religious liberty and freedom of association in America today,” Fischer declared.

Sounds like Grenell is eminently qualified for the foreign policy post. That should be the beginning and the end of this story. Tell Bryan Fischer to drop dead.

My thoughts too, and it apparently isn't his first rodeo. I thought that CNN fanning the flames was funny.

Yup :)

BTW - the gay community, while all wanting equality, so not all liberal - I have a number of gay friends that are not fans of Obama (including one guy I dated a few times back in TN that makes Alphie look like he is an Obama fanboy).

What exactly is the Gay Foreign Policy anyway? Does Romney really need a spokesman dedicated to it?

CNN was fanning the flames by inviting a gay basher on?

CNN, a major network, decided that the fact that this guy is gay and that a far right whackjob needed to get his anti-gay message out to a much broader audience is, in my opinion, fanning flames. Most of us would never have heard of his had CNN not gotten involved. Note the link is from ABC .....

I woke up and took a gay shower. Then I got in my gay car and had a gay drive to my gay job. I worked my 4 gay hours and then took time to enjoy a gay lunch. Later on, I got back into my gay car and gay drove to my gay house. I gay cleaned my gay house for 3 gay hours. I gay played and gay fed my gay dogs. Then I gay prepared a gay dinner, gay watched gay television, gay read a gay book and went to gay sleep in my gay bedroom with my gay wife.

calling things Gay like Gay Marriage is ridiculous. It's marriage. :twocents:

It might be fanning the flames, but I think they did it more for ratings than anything.

The natural political state of gay men is conservatism. I know lots of card carrying Log Cabin Republicans. A good friend of mine at work is one.

It should come as no surprise since the homos tend to be on the right of the intelligence bell curve.

There are a lot of economically conservative, socially liberal gay men - if the Republican Party would stop courting the American Taliban vote, they could make significiant inroads there.

They already do. Gay men are not overwhelmingly liberal. In fact, there is a large bloc of gay men who vote Republican already. The ones that don't would never vote Republican in a million years. The average gay guy doesn't go around doing pride marches and screaming about conservative Christians. The average gay guy drinks beer with guys like me on Saturdays while watching football, and on the weekdays he is too busy working in an above average to top tier job to get his panties in a twist about this gay issue or that one. He doesn't look at a Republican candidate who is socially conservative and think the sky is falling. He knows that social conservatives cannot legislate their versions of morality in this day and age. He also doesn't bother with exit polls (just like I don't) so don't waste time posting a graph showing how most are Dem voters.
