It was great that President Obama reconnected with the past but there was a young woman before Rosa that refused to relinquish her seat on a bus to a white passenger say hello to Claudette Colvin she as a 15 yr old was the original rebel.

There were plenty of Black men and women that came before her that fought against the racism and hatred of White Democrats. What's your point?

My point is that Colvin was one of them I know that there were others who came before Rosa just mentioning a few forgotten names she was the youngest and she was shunned by black ppl simply because of her background she came from a poor area of Montgomery.

White Democrats. You know the history of why the South became a "Democrat" stronghold? Check it out sometime.

Also, pretty nifty how the Donks stole the race moral high ground from the Conks via LBJ.

And why is he a dumbass simply because he is remembering a moment in time????He was, simply paying homage to a woman and what she endured for a simple act of rebellion.

I know Cappy. And I know, in the world of gross generalizations and the stupidity of some posters, they won't review the history books.

This is by no means exact, but it's safe to say that a mid to late 20th Century Democrat is more like a 19th Century Republican. And vice versa.

Rosa Parks, whether she was the first or the 100th was a cool woman and a national hero. Would love to have met her.

I find your lack of punctuation disturbing, young Padawan.

Yes she was a great woman but as stated before she wasn't the first to stand up for herself in that situation.

While a nice thought. The fact he is posing in the exact same position, makes this a complete photo-op.

This will help contribute to his campaign painting him as an everyman to Romney's silver spoon, his oppressed upbringing as a half black kid in Hawaii, his difficult times at Harvard, his life as a professor, state/US senator, author, and community organizer. He's only worth a few million vs. Romney's hundreds of millions.

Yep, he's just like Joe Walmart and the rest of us - except different. :coffee:
