Ann Romney Fights Back: Debuts on Twitter to Counter DNC Advisor’s Insult

"PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Ann Romney’s debut on Twitter couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

Ann’s first tweet came just moments after Democratic strategist and DNC adviser Hilary Rosen lobbed an insult at Ann Romney, suggesting that the 64-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 16 had never held a job.

“Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Rosen, who was being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the “war on women.”

And then, just like that, a familiar name popped up on Twitter: @AnnDRomney.

“I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work,” Ann tweeted.

The Romney campaign confirmed to ABC News that the account belongs to Ann Romney."

Say what you want about Mitt Romney, but his wife seems to be very likable and after seeing Obama's handlers immediately jump in and do damage control, I don't think the DNC talking heads want to fight that battle.

Agreed - stupid move by this Rosen cunt.

Ann does seem likeable (although gaffe-prone like Mitt), attacking her is bad politics, and bad form.

Stupid thing for this person to say and even in her apology she still pretty much stuck to her guns. Not sure what she was trying to do going after a stay at home Mom and saying it's not work - that's just never going to be received well, not matter how you try to spin it. She basically did her part to ensure she's not getting anywhere near any election campaign going forward, at least not publicly.

For all those working women out there, balancing their home economics, fighting major diseases, dealing with ample health care opportunities, making things work month to month on a budget that is not entirely limitless, while raising five kids, yes Ann Romney is the poster child for all women who fall into this category. Anyway you try to slice this (and you've tried again by saying essentially that she's rich so screw her) it still comes off as men (and political operative women) trying to marginalize her by saying stay at home mothers don't count because it's not work. The best option would be to just say your mea culpa and move onto a better argument. Staying around to step into the same crap again just doesn't make any sense.

Interesting - of course, considering you've had zero experience with "real" women I'm not sure you're really the best person to be predicting it. Just putting it out there.
