I like Fox News (the actual NEWS aparatus, anyway), and I don't mind his being charged at all. If Zimmerman really was the Neighborhood Watch captain, like any other captain, he should have to endure a trial over this. If he's really innocent, that will come out. If he's really guilty of murder, that will come out, too. Either way, a trial is the only way to ensure that.

That said, he's probably toast.

He'll be safer in jail than having Spike Lee and the Black Panthers announce open season on him and his family.

If it's like the LA riots they didn't figure out that trashing their own neighborhood businesses didn't really get the message out. Same story in NOLA - if you're trying to send a message you don't foul your own nest.

Agreed. Granted none of us have all the evidence the prosecution & the defense would present in a courtroom but as likely as it is/was he'd get charged, it's almost equally likely based on what we know that he'll be acquitted. Remember the term beyond a reasonable doubt....

We'll see. It's one of those situations where it's difficult to have confidence in the process because it's politicized. Like the prosecutor today starting off by saying she went in to get "Justice for Travon." Me, I think that kind of implies going in with a bias since if you go in with a blank slate you're trying to decide if that's called for.

Very tough situation. If Zimmerman gets a jury with no Blacks on it that'll be a big deal. But if you were Zimmerman right now, would you want any Blacks on the jury? Sure. You can say that theoretically they could be open minded and fair. But if I was in his shoes I sure wouldn't want to risk it.

Going in, about the only way the thing can end without sparking a bunch of civil unrest by the Black community is with him getting convicted. That's not a good situation.

Most of the blacks I've seen on TV the last few weeks have said "We judst want to see him charged, let this be decided inb a court of law, etc." Now you;re saying the black folks are moving the goal posts?

They need to keep them nearby in case they decide to lynch Zimmerman after he walks.

We're never going to know what really happened.

I just wonder why people feel the need to carry loaded hand guns? I've been in some pretty crappy areas of this country and never thought to myself...."I wish I had a gun."

Now there are of course worse areas, but I chose to avoid them.

I wonder if Zimmerman wishes he wasn't carrying a gun?
