How in god's name did Newt last longer than him? Also, surprised he didn't wait until after the PA primary. Guess he didn't want to get embarrassed by losing his home state.

What a relief, now maybe we can get down to talking about what's important, like polygamy, Romney Care, Mormonism, and the reason why Utah leads the nation in anti depressant use.

Bingo!! He knew he hand zero shot in his own home state - saved himself the embarassment - goes out looking better this way.

I can see the Philly Daily News headline tomorrow: "Santorum ABORTS Campaign"

I read this a little differently. Santorum might have had a shot to win PA, but he wasn't going to get the nomination.

He has a daughter that is very sick. He probably figures his time is better spent with her than it is fighting a losing battle.

And yet he still chooses to run for President... :ohno:

He's been good at using his kids for props. :coffee:

This is about sparing a wack job humiliation. Guy lost his home county by 30 pointsas an incumbent Senator. Do you realize how hard that is to do?

I would not have voted for him but I respect the fact that he said what he thought. Most politicans are not as straightforward as he is. He is not the type that, as the cliche goes, "sticks his finger in the air" to see which way the wind is blowing then taylors what he says to that.

He is very clear about what he believes then people can decide whether to vote for him or not. He doesn't equivocate.

We'd be better off if all politicans were like that.

Santorum brought nothing to the table. Focusing on social issues and not the economic elephant in the room would have been just what Obama wanted. Maybe with him finally gone, the candidates can get back to big boy discussions.

Rick had a good run, plus he provided me with lots of interesting and entertaining threads to post here. Sorry BDKJMU but I guess this means no more Santorum threads from me for a while.

Hey there dumb ass, she was born with Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder that is for the most part considered fatal. These kids need massive amounts of care by the way. This is the second time during this campaign she was in the hospital. So he knew ahead of time he had a daughter who was more than likely going to die in the next few years but he chose a job that keeps him away from her on a weekly basis. Don't forget all of the stories he has used about her while campaigning to suck in all of the fools :ohno: .
