I read this a little differently. Hey there dumb ass, she was born with Trisomy 18, a genetic disorder that is for the most part considered fatal. These kids need massive amounts of care by the way. This is the second time during this campaign she was in the hospital. So he knew ahead of time he had a daughter who was more than likely going to die in the next few years but he chose a job that keeps him away from her on a weekly basis.
