After being fired by Current TV/Al Gore yesterday, you have to wonder if this train wreck has gone off the tracks for the last time.

Where does he go from here?

I liked him while at MSNBC always destroyed O'Reilly in his time slot.

If Olbermann's ratings had been better than O'Reilly's, he'd still have an MSNBC job today. O'Reilly owned him. Get over yourself. :bs:

Not true. I believe Fox beats MSNBC in every time slot. I don't watch either though. Cable news is for idiots.

Perhaps that's why O'Reilly had more viewers than all of his cable news/opinion competition COMBINED in his time slot during the time they were on opposite one another.

The sun goes up, the sun goes down.
The tides go in, the tides go out.
Olberman gets hired, Olberman gets fire.
Why? Nobody knows...

They're both douchebags of a high order.

O'Reily always clobbered Oberman ratings wise. There was a time when there was a spate of stories about Oberman gaining ground but it was never really close.

However, O'Reiling is pretty bad too. I must admit that I watch his show sometimes. But the guy can be pretty dense. At least I think so.

Another thing is this thing where he refers to himself in third person. Like, "Talking points thinks that..." What? "Talking Points?" Talking points is a segment where YOU are expressing your opinion.

And he frequently says "we" when what he should be saying is "I."

I saw a female liberal kicking his arse this past week during a segment on the Supreme Court health care law case. I mean she was just tearing him up. But he's too dense to realize is arse was getting kicked.

Keith Olbermann Complained To Current TV That Car Service Drivers ‘Smelled, Talked To Him’
Mediate ^ | 3/31/12 | Tommy Christopher

On the heels of Countdown host Keith Olbermann‘s firing from Current TV, the network and sources close to it have been quick to buttress their case for the dismissal with details of the temperamental star’s antics. One such source tells Mediaite, among other things, that Olbermann went through 8 different car services (he doesn’t drive), and complained to the network that some of the drivers “smelled,” and “talked to him,”

Not as bad as that was. She was citing old legislation and such. Don't know if she was right about it supporting her point or not but he obviously didn't know either. So instead of just saying, "I'll have to look into that or something" he just started getting aggressive; raising his voice and talking over her.

He could've just said he'd find out if she was right. He's got the show. He's got staff to do research. He could come back the next night and nail her if she wasn't correctly representing things. Like I think one thing she said is that the Militia Act of 1862 required people to buy guns. So far I haven't been able to find that. Looks like it was an Act to authorize the President to employ black people on behalf of the Union war effort as laborers and soldiers. Maybe I didn't hear her right or my memory failed me and I'm looking at the wrong Act. But if the Act she cited didn't really do what she said it did the thing to do is research it and come back later. Don't use the tactic of raising your voice, getting agitated, and talking over the lady.

He really came off looking like a buffoon while she came off looking calm, intelligent, and knowledgeable.

And I'm sure he has no idea that such was the case.

Olbermann was released from MSNBC because he made an illegal campaign contribution to a democratic candidate.

And if his ratings had been higher, MSNBC would have overlooked that peccadillo. :coffee:
